HOW IS SINTERED STONE FORMED?

Often referred to as ‘ceramic stone’, sintered stone is made using technologically advanced processes which directly mimic how natural stone is formed on earth. Sintering stone requires a process where minerals and stone particles are selected according to texture, colour and quality, before being exposed to intense pressure and extremely high temperatures. Sintered stone that is bonded permanently without the use of bonding agents or resins.

Sintered stone is an excellent work surface substitution for granite and marble. It is very difficult for the untrained eye to distinguish sintered stone surfaces from natural stone, depending on the choice of pattern. Natural stones have a higher natural porosity, meaning they can trap bacteria and moisture, which can cause fading and impurities in their patterns. Sintered stone does not fall victim to this, as the process by which it is created (vibro-compression) means that the particles are compressed, making them completely resistant to moisture. For these reasons, sintered stone is an ideal elegant and practical choice. The versatility of our sintered stone countertops means they can be used for a number of different purposes. Whether you are updating your kitchen, bathroom, or workshop, we can provide you with high-quality, stylish options.

CARING FOR SINTERED STONE WORKTOPS

Though sintered stone is a tough material, some basic care is needed to ensure its longevity. Spillages should be wiped up straight away and the surfaces should be cleaned with either a specially designed product or hot soapy water, never use bleach. Always use a soft cloth and do not cut directly onto your stone worktops. Avoid using acidic or highly coloured products on the sintered stone, always put a board or mat down first. To avoid a limescale build-up, dry the areas around the sink. Sintered countertops can be sealed upon request. We also offer a cleaning kit to help you keep your sintered stone worktops sparkling clean and looking good.
